Stephen Chipkin – President
Stephen is the President of JCA. Following a successful career first in law, as a partner at Freehills, and then in investment banking at JP Morgan Australia and Investec Bank (Australia), he also has a wealth of communal experience having served on various JCA committees since 2004. He has been Chairman of both the Status Committee and Allocations Committee and has been an integral member of JCA Planning. He has a broad understanding of our community and a strategic approach to all that he undertakes both professionally and communally.
Prior to joining JCA, Stephen served as a board member of Masada College. He has been a director of various companies and is currently a director of the Investec Global Aircraft Fund. He is also Chairman of Weizmann Australia which aims to facilitate collaborative research between Australian scientists and scientists at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel.
His interests include golf, yoga, hiking and international affairs.
Danny Goldberg – Vice President and Chair, Jewish Communal Planning
Danny is Chair of Jewish Communal Planning and a Vice President of JCA. He has a commerce and law degree from UNSW and is the Executive Chairman and Principal of Dakota Corporation – a global investor in hedge funds, private equity and real estate.
Danny joined JCA’s Allocations Committee in 2007 and chaired it in 2010 when he also served on JCA’s Executive. A respected member of the Planning Committee on which he has served for the past six years before taking up the position as Chair, he spearheaded the Touch Points Review from 2011-2013, laying the groundwork for future engagement of the next generation of our community.
Michael Graf – Vice President and Chair, Fundraising
Michael Graf joined JCA in 2007 as a member of the Appeal Committee. In 2008 Michael became Chair of the Marketing Committee and joined the JCA Executive. In 2011he became the Appeal Chairman. He has been instrumental in the marketing and appeal strategy for the past three years. His family have been communally involved for many years with his father Ervin serving as Shalom College’s President and being instrumental in the merger with the Hillel Foundation resulting in today’s Shalom Institute.
Michael has over two decades experience working in the IT services industry for IBM Australia in a variety of business, management, industry and technical areas. Most recently, Michael took on the management of IBM Australia/New Zealand’s ISV & Developer Relations (IDR) business.
Daniel Grynberg – Chief Executive Officer
Daniel Grynberg is the Chief Executive Officer of JCA and ex-officio on all committees. Daniel, who is a lawyer, worked for 11 years as the general and corporate counsel at the Meriton Group, and also worked in development at the Ariadne Group. Prior to that Daniel worked at Freehills and spent a year on secondment at the Shopfront Youth Legal Centre. He has been a long-time volunteer at the Kingsford Legal Centre.
Daniel has also held a range of communal positions on the boards of The Shalom Institute, The Hakoah Club and Emanuel Synagogue Building Committee.
